CUT COPY/kidz at the disco

Does anybody know the CUT COPY song that goes...

It's not the music that I'm into.

It's just an attitude.

Kids at the disco, act so cool

But I can see right through.

lol, everytime I hear this only one thing comes to mind...hence with the utmost sincerity(smell the irony), I dedicate this post to all the pretentious tryhards that frequent this city...en masse!

I think this band sounds a little like new order/bloc party/joy division- what do you think?

MARTHA WAINWRIGHT/When the Day is Short

I first heard the wonderfully unique voice of Martha on Snow Patrol's "Set the Fire to the Third Bar" which I liked so much I bought the album just to have that one song!

A Big Martha fan Jonno then randomly crashlanded into my blog and inspired me to order an album without ever having heard any of her music...

So I got MARTHA WAINWRIGHT...

I was utterly disappointed.

Fast Forward several months later and I'm needing something "fresh" so I start playing all the many albums I bought "on a whim" and haven't listened to more than 10x...

I think you gotta be in a certain mood for Martha...I'm really liking it playing evenings while I do alfresco on the balcony! So anyway, many more listens later, I decided I really like this song off the album..."When the Day is Short"...enjoy :)


p.s just found out she's CANADIAN...don't know what it is but I'm starting to realise I seem to like lots of CANADIANS!! weird.

Matt Berninger has got to be my favourite (current)vocalist ever...what an awesome Baritone!

I had the good fortune of seeing him perform at Angel Place earlier this year...and what a weird venue, but the acoustics were...the best!

Can't wait for them to come back...Best indoor concert I've ever been to!

THE SHINS/Kissing the Lipless

Something a bit different...I found this sound really refreshing today. Really resonates with my current urge of throwing all caution to the wind.

MADONNA/Cherish

Great song to waken from the inevitable afternoon brain siesta...this is probably my favourite of Early Madonna...Love "The Immaculate Collection" - I'm an eighties child after all ;)



this one is good to wake up those dwindling brain cells as well ;)
